Welcome To Our Family Hospital

   On behalf of the Authority Board and Staff, welcome and thank you for  choosing to visit and learn more about the services of BJC Medical Center  (BJCMC). BJCMC is located in North East Georgia along the Interstate 85  corridor in Commerce, Georgia. The Authority Hospital was founded in 1960  by a group of concerned citizens to establish, build, maintain, manage, and  operate a hospital and nursing facility for the general welfare of the  citizens  of Banks County, Jackson County, City of Commerce and  surrounding  communities.

   Banks-Jackson-Commerce Hospital and Nursing Home Authority (BJC  Medical  Center) is more than just a hospital and nursing facility. We  represent a  collaborative Board, Medical Staff, and Hospital Staff of over  400 healthcare  professionals that strive to provide caring and  compassionate healthcare  services dedicated to “treat you like family”.  Our commitment is to serve  patients and families and provide the best  possible quality and  compassionate healthcare services to everyone we  serve.

   BJC Medical Center consists of 90 licensed hospital beds, 167 nursing  facility  beds, and a staff of over 400 medical professionals that provide a  range of  inpatient, outpatient and long term nursing care services  including 24-hour  emergency services, surgical services, obstetric services,  laboratory services,  radiology services, physical therapy services,  outpatient clinics, and other  services. For services that exceed our local  mission and capabilities, we will  coordinate the acceptance and transfer of  patients to numerous other  Specialty Hospitals and Medical Centers within  a 1 Hour drive or much shorter  medical evacuation helicopter flight.  

    BJCMC is a member of the Georgia Hospital Association, American  Hospital  Association, and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission on  Accreditation  of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

    In 2005 BJC Medical Center celebrated its 45th Year Service Anniversary.   We  are very proud of our legacy and the outstanding example of a medical  and  hospital staff working together for the benefit of the people we serve  with  quality medical services and care. As we grow with our communities,  our staff  and services will grow to meet your needs. BJC Medical Center has  embarked  on complex capital equipment, facilities, and services planning  and  development projects that will allow us to upgrade equipment,  facilities and  services to continue to meet your medical service needs.
